Buckwheat Honey
Rare and highly sought-after, the Buckwheat honey is extraordinary, with its powerful aromas of carob.
The cultivation of buckwheat, traditionally from Brittany, is gradually spreading across the south of France.
This honey is one of our two favourites (along with Fir tree honey...)
Buckwheat honey, despite its very dark color, is not a honeydew, as one might think. Bees enjoy the nectar that rises in June in the many little white pinkish flowers.
It is very different from the others honeys, it distinguishes itself by its powerful aromas of carob and dried fruit.
• Appearance: Very dark brown-black in colour, the crystallisation is rather creamy.
• Nose: The aromatic smell is strong, deep, reminding of carob and prunes.
• Taste: The aroma is powerful and persistent.
je trouve que ce miel sent les pieds et son goût est très fort. Je ne l'utilise qu'en cuisson pour des plats sucrés-salés car consommé cru, il dénature votre tartine ou votre thé... Et d'ailleurs, je n'en racheterai pas.
