Sunflower Honey
Sunflower Honey is smooth and creamy. Sunflower Honey, known as the “summer blonde” because of its bright yellow colour, comes from the sunflower crops that decorate the summer horizon in southern France.
• Appearance : Sometimes the lemon yellow colour is golden and bright. Once extracted, Sunflower Honey crystallises quickly into fine to medium crystals. The consistency is usually thick and solid.
• Smell : Hints of wet straw and fresh pollen.
• Taste : The aromatic and unique flavour is suggestive of plant life and lingers in the mouth.
Sunflower Honey is rich in flavonoids and trace elements such as calcium, bore, and silicon. There are claims that it fights fever and could help blood circulation. Sunflower Honey is a favourite amongst children.
It crystallises quickly after extraction so we work with while it’s creamy.
Sunflowers are cultivated primarily for their oil and seeds. It is an annual plant with a pivoting root system that develops deep in the soil.
