Tamarisk Honey
This rare honey is produced primarily in the salt marshes of the Mediterranean. Its production remains limited to Mediterranean regions. Our tamarisk Honey is collected at the Leucate pond where numerous varieties of wild Tamarisk are found. This rare honey is worth tasting.
. Appearance : Amber in colour at the time of harvest, it turns light brown as the honey crystallises. The fine granules create a smooth consistency.
. Smell : Fruity, strong and pleasant.
. Taste : Sweet and smooth.
Tamarisk Honey is either liquid, solid, or creamy depending on the season.
The Tamarisk is a shrub that can reach a height of 3 meters. The genus Tamarix belongs to the Tamaricaceae family for which there are many species.
